About Us
We are a family business with generations of experience with horses including breeding, producing and carriage driving. Caramel Stud Carriages is run alongside our sister company, The Caramel Stud, enabling us to provide not only a unique carriage service, but also horses that have been bred and nurtured by ourselves to ensure they have the correct temperament and flair for carriage work and riding.
Joanne and Andy
Jo is the proprietor of both Caramel Stud Carriages and The Caramel Stud. She is an experienced driver and horsewoman who lives and breathes horses 24hrs a day! She adores horses and has been in the equestrian industry for over 25 years, working with horses directly and also in the equine wholesale and retail sectors.
Jo also has a distinction in Equine Science and Business Management and is a fully qualified Animal Health Advisor (SQP), which is invaluable in keeping our 21 horses, and other animals, fit and healthy. She can also advise you on the health and welfare of your animals and prescribe veterinary medicines if necessary.
Animal Medicine
Jo is a fully qualified Animal medicines adviser or R.S.Q.P. She is the animal equivalent of a pharmacist and is able to give advice regarding the use of a wide variety of veterinary medicines and wormers. She is authorised to prescribe and/or supply veterinary medicinal products under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations. We will be expanding the shop area of our website to include sales of animal health items soon. Jo has acquired an immense amount of knowledge in a variety of disciplines and professions, and met a few like-minded people along the way, including the "Horse Whisperer" himself!
