THOROUGHBRED

Shar is our old thoroughbred that we have had with us for many years and is now aged 21.

Jo used to work for his breeder and has known Shar since he was 6 months old. He was bred from very good quality racing stock and was destined to be a steeplechaser, hence his huge 16.2hh stature, but unfortunately his breeder passed away so he was never sent for training.

One of his close relations ran in the Grand National and was winning until he jumped a loose horse AND Beechers Brook didn't quite make the landing! Both jockey and horse were fine.

Shars role is the CSC nanny! He keeps all the young horses in check, teaches them good manners in the field and is Daisy's best friend.

He isn't quite sure if he is a stallion, gelding or a mare but has the most gentle temperament and even though he never made it as a racehorse, we still love him!
